Celebrate DeviantArt's 15th Birthday!
As DeviantArt enters its 15th year on the Internet, we want to take a moment before blowing out our candles to thank the community for allowing us the honor of hosting the site that you call your home for art. After all, it's the community's 15th birthday, too, and in the past few months, we've been making it our top priority to share with you our plans for the future, celebrate the successes of our past, and look to you for guidance on how best we can serve each of you while entering this new phase of DeviantArt's existence.

How to mildly annoy your artist. Guide. by mannequin-atelier, journal
How to mildly annoy your artist. Guide.
Maybe it’s not a common knowledge how to NOT annoy the artist. That’s why I want to make this list. Would be awesome if you guys can share this list to spread the message so it will make easier life for us, artists :)
The worst question/ messages you can send to artist a.k.a. ‘How to annoy your artist’
Message 1: 'Can I be You friend?'
No >_<
Explanation: Would You pick random person on the street, come to him/her and ask this question? If answer is no then don’t ask people this people on the internet. Plus. Do you even realize what a term ‘friend’ means? Friendship is earned, it’s no

just ramblings on the topic of style :)
So, after a metric ton of questions about it, i will assemble some PERSONAL OPINIONS
On the nature of style, its ups and downs... stuff like that
This is based on my own personal experiences, mistakes, dead ends and fuckups.
So take anything i say here with a few grains of salt.
In fact , reason i'm writing this is that i have started getting an unsettling amount of notes flat out idolizing the imperfect unfinished mess that is my style, so before it harms people's growth i wanted to share some personal insights i learned over time. Some through experience, other through conversation with industry professionals.

Death Threat 'Hitman Scam' by DestinyBlue, journal
Death Threat 'Hitman Scam'
Teeth brushed and ready to tuck myself into bed, thought I would read a new note which had just popped into my DeviantArt inbox...
It turned out to be a lot more sinister than I was expecting...
My heart beat faster as I tired to make sense of it. 'Death will be your destiny' Does someone wants to kill me? Who? Why? What?
I've had people say some pretty harsh stuff, but nothing along these lines. Is this a troll, or am I actually in danger? Do I phone the police? Report it to DeviantArt? I knew it was probably a troll, scammer, hacker, trickster, but still felt uneasy. I knew there probably wasn't someone out to kill me, but anxiety jumps
This bastard http://obt000.deviantart.com/ and some others are out there too
send me this Note:
"Sum1 paid me to kill you. get spared, 48hrs to pay $5000. If you inform the police or anybody, death is promised. E-mail me now: bigfatherbrother@outlook.com"
Be careful and do not fall for this shit!

Well, like usual, DA has made a change and everybody is furious about it.
I'm pretty open to change, though I admit I was slightly put off by this at first. My main complaint is that this came with no warning, though I expect people would have reacted the same either way and this seemed like an attempt to, figuratively speaking, rip off the band-aid and get it over with.
I can't say I like the obnoxious orange color because it clashes in an otherwise harmonious design, nor do I like the term "core" because I feel it (unintentionally) conveys the wrong message. But really, think about it, was "premium" any better? It's still a label that ele
